New River Photography

New River Photography is a fine art photography company whose objective is to create fine art images from ordinary digital images. We specialize in producing black and white images from color digital images using the Black and White feature in PhotoShop CS3 in conjunction with the Advanced Black and White printing feature in Epson R2400 and Epson 4800 printers and by using Piezography inks (seven shades of gray). We teach fine art digital photography workshops that show you how to create great digital images and how to create fine art images from them.

New River Photography's Fine Art Workshops are limited to 10 participants each. If a Workshop fills, we will work with you to schedule another one in the preceding or following week. Participants who cancel within 45 days of a workshop will receive credit for another New River Photography Fine Art Workshop. If you cancel before the 45 day period, you will receive a full refund.

Our Digital Photography Fine Art Workshops teach participants, not only about metering, composition, etc., but we teach participants how to use PhotoShop CS3 features to improve the beauty and value of their images. We target the intricacries of printing images and focus on printing images on thick paper such as Epson Velvet Fine Art and rough watercolor paper. These paper types provide fabric to enhance the beauty of images.

We show participants how to make consistent the image on the monitor and printed image. This reduces the frustration of seeing a beautiful image on the monitor and getting something printed that is not at all like the image on the monitor. Color management is one of the most frequent problems that digital photographers struggle with.

The bluets flower image on the left when printed on 140 pound cold press water color paper produces a beautiful fine art image. This image can also be converted to a black and white image using the Black and White feature in PhotoShop CS3, to create another beautiful fine art image. Visit our Gallery.
